The Avengers Assemble in New Mexico: "Despite rumors that it would shoot primarily in either New York or Los Angeles, Joss Whedon's The Avengers has now been announced for production in New Mexico with shooting scheduled between April and September of 2011.
“In addition to being our biggest production to date, 'The Avengers' will be the most technologically advanced and will provide cutting-edge training opportunities for our crew,” said New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson in an official press release, “I’m announcing this as a Christmas present of sorts to the people of New Mexico. Zack Snyder's Superman To Fly in Vancouver: "Shortly after the announcement that director Joss Whedon would be filming Marvel Studios' The Avengers in New Mexico, another city has claimed its own superhero movie as Vancouver's The Globe and Mail is reporting that Zack Snyder's Superman: The Man of Steel will be shot in Vancouver next summer.
The paper was told this info by Peter Leitch, chairman of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia and president of North Shore Studios and Mammoth Studios, referring to it as 'Zack Snyder's next feature' without mentioning the name of the project.
It makes perfect sense since Vancouver is where Snyder has filmed his last two live action movies, Watchmen and the upcoming Sucker Punch .
Snyder will have some time to do what's necessary..."
