Friday Box Office – LITTLE FOCKERS Soft in First with $5.1 Million; TRUE GRIT Rides Past TRON LEGACY to Take Second Place: "With Christmas Eve falling on a Friday this year – and no new releases to discuss – this will not be your average Friday box office report. Universal’s Little Fockers spent a third day in first place on Christmas Eve, though reduced holiday attendance knocked the sequel’s estimates off by at least 30% from Thursday’s $7.1 million… nothing average about that. Despite its 11% Rotten Tomato score, Fockers should close the five-day holiday frame with a so-so $43 million. Childless adults made the difference for True Grit on Friday. The Western claimed the number two spot on Christmas Eve with an estimated $4.8 million. The film should wrap its first five-days with $25 million, which would make the Coen Brother’s remake pretty remarkable for a modern Western. Disney’s Tron Legacy was third on Friday with $3.9 million - a number that should improve once families venture back to the malls today and Sunday. Of course, final weekend numbers will depend on how Fox’s Gulliver’s Travels fares in its Christmas Day launch. The Gulliver’s reviews have been slightly better than Fockers, but that’s not saying much…
